"A Portrait of the Girls I Like Best" - Woodcut Fine Art Print
"A Portrait of the Girls I Like Best" is a reproduction of a woodcut block print. The original piece was hand-carved, inked, and hand-pressed in my art studio in the FL Keys, and it was shown and sold at my solo show titled, "Lucid Dreaming." The poetry is my own. Before the show the piece was professionally photographed to create this high-quality digital reproduction, printed on matte 330 GSM paper for a rich finish.
All prints have a border, making framing simple and effortless.
Digital reproductions allow you to enjoy fine-art quality prints of my work in various sizes, making it accessible to more collectors. Woodcut is a relief technique, creating rich textures and bold lines. The digital prints capture the essence of the original woodcut, preserving its vibrant colors and fine details.
Your art will be drop-shipped directly from my printer. Each piece is placed in its own protective layer and then all the art is rolled together safely and slipped inside a sturdy shipping tube to protect it from weird weather and postal mishaps. The roll is wide but there will be a slight curve to the paper. This will eventually settle out, but if you need it flat right away you can place the print on a table, cover it with the protective layer it arrived in and place a book on top of it.
The poetry on the art reads:
A list of longing
Dog-eared in
A Book
Easiness found
The Leap
Rome Jugular
Sappho heart
Backyard front yard
Ghost revival
Beowulf - type wardrobe
Wabi-sabi (as always)
20/masters 20/plots
Little bright things
Crackling in your
Palm
A Sense of this place
How many moons
Have you held
In your hands?
What am I saying
And to whom?
Filled with longing -
A face both bright
& laughing. Tied
Bougainvillea in
Your hair.
Mock self - no -
Ridiculous remedies.
An inner voice
Singing in a
Language you don’t
Speak yet.
The moon - if you’re
Watching - runs a
Halo around you - a
Harness. You’re
Up to your thighs
In the water. The night
Is still and starry/ you
Are still and starry.
Unfurl your fist &
Sway home by way
Of my hemline.
